I'm back on the road again... or actually the rails this time. The combination of a week off and bargain train tickets have me on the way to New York City again. I admit that the train travel is a significant part of the experience this time. All those years of telling students about how vital the railroads were and how they contributed to the industrial revolution and how everybody traveled by train in the olden days, or even back in the 40's... Well, I had to actually experience it at least once. So I'm trying to get into the proper frame of mind... Hey there, sonny boy, how 'bout a shoeshine before I hop that train? Here's a quarter, keep the change! Wasn't Jack Benny swell on the radio last week? Do ya think the Bambino can top himself and hit 60 this year? Wouldn't that Thomas E. Dewey make a dapper President?
